Warmth back to cold...

Austin Texas, where we found the best possible parking spot.
Driving hours on barren landscapes, peppered with oil pumps.
Sleeping in a state park in Roswell, NM, No UFOs witnessed, too cloudy.
Waking up the next morning and fixing up our bikes.
Taking them on the trail, exploding my back tire climbing up a rocky hill.
Taking off towards a northward state park, we stopped at a natural hot spring where we met up with a group of wwoofr organic farmers who offered to feed us and have a place to park.
We spent the night and worked in the morning after Qigong, digging up posts embedded in the solid ground, digging holes for a bathroom they were preparing to put in.

Many amazing people, great souls with good things to say, as well as hackey-sack enthusiasts. Sad to leave this awesome group of people, but the road is where we belong.

Slept at a state park the night after that, where we tried to conquer a hiking trail on our mountain bikes before realizing the endeavor was impossible.
Today we're in Santa-Fe getting Bussy a much needed oil change before heading up into the daunting snow capped mountains we keep seeing in the distance.
We left the 75 degree weather of Austin to climb into Taos where the max estimated temperature is just above 30. What are we thinking... After Taos we may just decide to haul ass back south-west towards more clement weather.

  2. Beautiful photos and pretty awesome adventures! I am impressed with the biking around. Mando is here for a few days and we all enjoyed a warm evening of House Concert. Frigid morning here (-18°C at 5am)but spectacular bright sun on a crusted snow. Thinking much of you! Love from us all in Maine.
